In alignment with the imperative for green energy transition, a leading utility decided to undertake a major role in the development of e-mobility at a national level. This entailed the installation and maintenance of a network of public electric vehicle charging points and the provision of customer-centric e-mobility services.
In this context, Neollect was asked to develop the location and partnerships strategy for the rapid and scalable nationwide deployment of EV charging infrastructure for the next 10 years.
Charting the location and partnerships strategy for the nationwide deployment of Electric Vehicle charging points
Approach and recommendations
Impact
Our work resulted in charting a robust location strategy for the deployment of the target EV infrastructure across the country. We also provided our client with a clear roadmap for establishing key partnerships in each relevant market segment.
The Utility has already established the number one network in the country in terms of public EV charging infrastructure, while they continue working on the delivery of our location and partnerships strategy to further strengthen their presence in the market.
Neollect delivered the following tasks:
analysed historical data and forecasts in order to map the future development and adoption of e-mobility in the country;
defined a set of criteria to allocate the projected demand for electric vehicle (EV) public charging infrastructure across geographies and types of locations;
identified all relevant market segments, including municipalities, supermarket chains, parking chains, retail shops, shopping malls, airports, ports and marinas, hotel chains and gas stations;
evaluated the potential partners, ranking them across geographies according to their geographical presence and suitability;
prioritised, as a final step, the most significant partners for each market segment, creating a clear way forward for the partnerships to be pursued by our client.
